Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how rome-spirit.com (the "Site") collects, uses and protects information about visitors. The Site is operated by Agence Xen, hereafter "we" / "us". By using the Site you agree to the practices described below.

1. Who we are

The Site is published by Agence Xen. For privacy-related requests, contact agencexen@gmail.com.

2. What information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, register, or submit personal data. We do not sell any data. However, the following data is collected automatically by us or by our third-party providers:

  • Technical data: browser type, operating system, screen size, device type, IP address (truncated by Google Analytics), approximate geographic location (country/city level).
  • Behavioural data: pages viewed, time spent on page, scroll depth, referrer, internal site searches, clicks on outbound affiliate links.
  • Cookies: see section 5.

3. Third-party services we use

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — collects anonymised browsing data with IP truncation. Data is processed in the EU. Google Privacy Policy
  • Google Search Console — collects search-related metrics (queries, impressions, clicks) at aggregate level.
  • GetYourGuide (affiliate links) — when you click a tour link or interact with a booking widget, GetYourGuide may set tracking cookies for booking attribution. We earn a commission on bookings completed via these links (see our affiliate disclosure). See GetYourGuide's privacy policy.
  • Viator affiliate links — Viator (a Tripadvisor company, Partner ID P00305208) may set tracking cookies for attribution when you click a Viator tour link. We earn a commission on bookings completed via these links. See Viator's privacy policy.
  • Infomaniak Network SA — hosting provider (Geneva, Switzerland). Server logs are kept for security and debugging purposes for a maximum of 30 days. Infomaniak Privacy Policy
  • Pagefind — on-site search runs entirely in your browser; no search query data leaves your device.

4. Why we collect this data (legal basis)

  • To measure audience size and improve content (legitimate interest under GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • To track outbound affiliate clicks and compute commissions (legitimate interest).
  • To detect abuse, denial-of-service and spam (legitimate interest).

We never use personal data for advertising profiling or sell it to third parties.

5. Cookies

This Site sets the following cookies:

  • _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics) — distinguish unique visitors; 13-month retention.
  • GetYourGuide cookies — set only when you click a GetYourGuide affiliate link or interact with a booking widget; controlled entirely by GetYourGuide.
  • Viator cookies — set only when you click a Viator affiliate link; controlled by Viator (a Tripadvisor company).

You can refuse, block or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect site functionality.

6. Data retention

Google Analytics retains user-level data for 13 months by default. Aggregated reports are kept indefinitely. Server logs (hosting): 30 days. We do not store any user-identifying database on our own servers.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR (and equivalent laws in the UK, Switzerland and most EU states) you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Rectify inaccurate data;
  • Erase your data (right to be forgotten);
  • Restrict or object to processing;
  • Data portability;
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Because we do not store user-identifying data ourselves, most requests must be addressed to the relevant third party (Google Analytics, GetYourGuide, Viator). For requests concerning data held by us specifically: agencexen@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

8. Children

This Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

9. International transfers

Hosting is in Switzerland (Infomaniak). Google Analytics may transfer data to servers in the United States under standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. GetYourGuide processes booking data primarily in Germany.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top is authoritative. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for at least 30 days.
